Ebola outbreaks leave more than 500 dead in Congo



It is the second deadly epidemic in the disease since 2014.

For six months, an outbreak of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo has already left at least 502 dead, the authorities said Friday.

Of these, 441 are deaths in confirmed cases and 61 in probable cases.

The Ministry of Health also detailed that the 271 affected people managed to cure.

This is the second most virulent Ebola epidemic in history, killing more than 11,000 people in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone in 2014.

It is the tenth epidemic in Congolese soil since the virus's first appearance in 1976.
