The province will maintain the social electricity tariff that the nation stops subsidizing policy

From January 1, 2019, the nation will no longer utilize the electrical social tariff and stimulus plan and eliminate them from their utilities.

Through the social electricity price, users were subsidized 100 percent of the wholesale price of energy for the first 300 bhp, while the subsidy for the next 300 bhp was 50 percent.

The Electric Energy Saving Stimulus plan, on the other hand, set a discount of 10 per cent on the wholesale price for users who achieved a 20 per cent lower consumption compared to the same period in 2015.

Both bonuses, which benefit low-income residents, are ineffective at all. January 1, 2019 through a nation's resolution. With this new scenario, this segment of users will be in a state of total vulnerability and would have been forced to pay costs in the new electricity bills with increases of more than 100 percent.

For this reason, the Government of Entre Ríos has decided to maintain the price of social electricity throughout the province and absorb the corresponding costs with its own resources. With regard to the Stimulus Plan, it will remain in force in the province of Entre Ríos until 31 January 2019.

Once again, the province of Entre Ríos is responsible for social programs that benefit the sectors most in need of them in the light of a national government decision.
