Jurgen Klopp has warned his Liverpool players to stay home if they think Fulham will be a pushover on Sunday.
Cottagers are the bottom of the table with just five points from 11 matches.
Liverpool are desperate for a victory after Tuesday's shock loss to Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.
When asked if the Fulham match could be an opportunity to increase Liverpool's goal difference, Klopp said it would not be easy to beat the West Londoners.
He said, "I would really be an idiot – some think I'm, but not that much – to talk about any goal difference before the match.
"I'm not sure how many Fulham games you've seen in 90 minutes – not just Today's match or a summary of things like that – but this is a really weird situation for Fulham. I can really imagine how they feel right now – the football is good, a lot of things are really good, they caused [Manchester] City problem in the Carabao Cup … it has been really good football for many moments.
"We have to defend them. They are a skilled team offensive and focused on doing a lot of things. The end product, the finish may not be very good enough, but they have scored goals. On the other hand, they have agreed, but you will never do a goal against a team like Fulham with their quality just because you go into the game with the wrong attitude and are considering scoring, scoring, scoring.
"This game is a big challenge, really for all of us. We must make sure that we really do not forget what kind of a good situation we are in.
"Atmospherically, again a challenge, at 12 o'clock [kick-off], so for all people coming into the arena, go to bed early on Saturday night, be in your best shape at lunchtime on sunday and help.
"If anyone goes there and expects a light match, please stay at home because it will not be [easy], it will be a hard job to do. It's good we want to show a reaction, yes it's meaningful, but correct reaction. "
