One end is in view of this week's serious B.C. storm that led to far-reaching power failures and damage to dozens of buildings and homes.

Environment Canada continued its wind warning for Vancouver Island Saturday morning, requiring gusts of up to 90 kilometers per hour over coast and north sections. In the eastern region and Victoria, the national forerunner says that the winds will reach 70 kilometers per hour.

The wind of up to 80 kilometers per hour is expected for West Vancouver Island.

But the storm is expected to ease under warning criteria starting in the area around Victoria and Campbell River starting in the afternoon. By Saturday evening and overnight, the rest of the island will be ready.

Ca. 60,000 BC Hydro customers on Vancouver Island, Salt Spring Island and Galiano Island are still without power.
