McLaren's latest addition to his superclass series is a drop version of the 720S capable of 325 miles per hour with the roof lowered.
The drop-top version of the 720S adds a little weight, but still manages to be brighter than its competitors. The retractable hardtop and tonneau system is only 49 kilos and the car's total dry weight is 1,332 kg.
The 720S Spider is enhanced on the regular 720S platform and is called "Monocage II-S". It does away with the spine running down the middle of the roof, but manages to remain as rigid as a coupe.
The roof panel is specially designed for convertible. Because it's possible to raise or lower in only 11 seconds and when it's up, you can still choose whether you want to see the sky or not thanks to the electro-chrome glass panel that can quickly switch between toned and transparent.
To help visibility in low speed, the floating carpets have glazed panels that make it possible to see through them, and McLaren also fine-tuned the active aero to change as the location of the roof.
2019 McLaren 720S Spider is available immediately for order and will set you back 237,000 pounds, or approx. CAD $ 400,000.
