Mickie James has had an incredible career and has continued to add to her performance in her current WWE round. In an interview with Chris Van Vilet, she discussed her whiteboard with Becky Lynch, her career highlights and All Elite Wrestling.
On her Twitter feud with Becky Lynch:
Relax, people. It's Twitter. That is cool. She's "The Man", but I'm "The Woman." Women have always been the dominant sex. If you want to do this "I'm the man", things that I think went out in 2010, then move on. It's cool, but I'm an adult ass woman and I'm proud of it.
I love Becky, though. I respect her. I think she's amazing. She is extremely talented. I'm just better.
At WWE, she approaches coming back full time:
Mark Carrano called me first, and then Hunter called me. It was very unexpected. After I left TNA, I called a couple of times and didn't hear back. I went and had my son, and I was okay with the chapter that closed, and that was when they called me to the Asuka fight.
Expiration of pro wrestling schedule:
People do not understand that this sludge takes such a drain on you. Not just physically but emotionally. That's a lot. Especially if you allow yourself to be completely wrapped in this world and you find your value based on what your television is [position] is. You will never be happy or satisfied. Now I find my happiness in my music, what I do in the ring and am mother. Nothing governs my happiness.
At All Elite Wrestling:
It is well. Messages are good. The competition is amazing. Everyone achieves higher peaks, we all welcome competition. It's good for the boys, for my friends who want another place to work. Apart from talking, I haven't really seen anything. I love healthy competition as I already know that I am the best in the world.
There have been people who have tried, and TNA did really well and I don't know what happened.
Her three career highlights:
WrestleMania with Trish Stratus. Lita's last match and the cage match with Lisa [Marie Varon]It would have been Tara there [in TNA]. These are the three best ones, but there have been so many amazing moments. The drop counts anywhere that suits Melina. There was a match in Alaska I had with Beth Phoenix at a house show where we had a standing ovation from Ric Flair, Triple H, John Cena and Arn Anderson. I got so much work with her that we knew each other's body language. Got a standing ovation from across the closet. It was amazing.
