NEW ORLEANS – NASA moves a massive liquid tank to Huntsville, Alabama for testing as part of its plans to come back to the moon.
The 149 foot long tank is part of the Space Launch System.
The version moved from NASA's plant in New Orleans on Friday is a test model, which means it will not actually be launched in space.
It will travel with the barge up river to Alabama, where it will undergo strenuous test designs to imitate the conditions for entering the room.
NASA's Sam Stephens says in Huntsville that they will "test it until it fails until it runs."
The information from the test will help researchers as they build thought for the Space Launch System.
