Newmarket man, 23, charged with full driving in collision, leaving five-year-old girl dead



A 23-year-old man has been accused of driving in a crash that left a five-year-old girl dead in August.

York Region Police said that four-driving in King Township occurred on the morning of August 4 and involved nine people.

Five members of the same family, including an 11-year-old boy, a five-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The girl died of her injuries five days later.

Kamau Davis-Locke, 23, Newmarket, faces a dozen charges including reduced driving, causing death, two counts of weakened driving that causes bodily injury, criminal negligence, causing death and two counts of criminal negligence that causes bodily damage.

He is scheduled to appear in a Newmarket court on January 24th.
