Serious collision with transit bus, pedestrian in Burnaby – BC



A woman has suffered severe injuries after being hit and stuck under a Coast Mountain bus in Burnaby on Thursday evening.

It happened around kl. on 6th Street and 16th Avenue.

CPR was performed on the woman on the spot, but it is not known whether the patient survived.

Burnaby RCMP's general duty, traffic crime investigation and collision analyst reconstruction team were all called to scene to investigate.

TransLink confirmed that the bus was involved in a crash with a pedestrian on Thursday, but said that it had no further information to share.

"At this time, we do not have adequate information about the circumstances of the accident, and as it is currently a police investigation, all inquiries should be referred to the Burnaby RCMP," said a spokesman in an email.

The traffic was closed on 6th Street between 15th Avenue and 17th Avenue, and drivers are asked to avoid the area.
