Hollywood is full of whirlwind romances, and Peter Davidson and Ariana Grande are certainly qualified. The two were an unlikely couple who moved one mile per minute in their relationship.

Although fans may not have put bets on the pairs falling out, the rapid movement of the safe eyebrows increased. After all, they went from dating to fiancé to go their separate ways in a few months.

After the breakup, Davidson made his fair share of jokes on Saturday Night Live to cope. Ariana Grande decided to write a song, Thank You Next, to help her get her feelings out. She's even called Davidson to let him and her fans know that she is in charge of the song. While both do what they can, it is clear that the SNL superstar takes the split to heart.

A look at Davidson and Grande's relationship

The SNL comedian met the famous sangress in March 2016 when she joined the show as a guest. Fast forward two years to May 2018 and Grande makes an emotional Instagram update announcing a split from its long-standing love, Mac Miller. Just two days after the collapse, Davidson and Grande are seen together at a SNL party. Two days after, Davidson and Grande switch places with him and announce his breakup with Cazzie David.

Later that month, the two were official, at least on an informal level … allowing you to count matching tats as relaxed! In June, Davidson and Grande were engaged. In August, Davidson revealed that he told the singer that he would marry her the day they met back in 2016. He even sent his pictures of engagement rings to show he was serious! Two months after their engagement announcement, their breakup became public, shocking fans. While they may be a part for now, they are perhaps coming together again in the future.

Davidson is shifting his focus to his career

Their relationship may have been short-lived, but it is clear that it has had a significant impact on both. There were lots of PDAs, matching tatts and social media sharing that showed the two were very in love. To help him cope with the loss of his lady love, Davidson plans to focus on his career. Outside his consistent hilarious work with SNL, he has several projects in the works. He gets Jack in Going Places, Tom Zutaut in Dirtand working on an untitled project with Judd Apatow, which is slated to release in 2020.

Pete Davidson and Kate Beckinsale?

It's not just his career that helps the comedian forward. He was spotted with beautiful Kate Beckinsale earlier this year at the Golden Globes after party. It wasn't just him who put on the movements either. Apparently the two twists were lying on the charm all night. Clearly they knocked it off! Considering Davidson's heart failure has been in the Grande, it's just the kind of attention he needed to smile again! The two offer adieu with a friendly hug.

Words on the vine are that Davidson and Beckinsale have spent some time together. Although Beckinsale does not put all their eggs in a basket, she has admitted that she likes Davidson and enjoys the time she spends with him. According to a reliable source, "Kate thinks he's the cutest and best man." Perhaps the perfect timing is the key to getting the comedian back on track!

Why did Pete Davidson stop Instagram?

The internet is known to put a damper on many people's moods. There is just as much content being thrown on viewers, and at least half of that content is triggered for various reasons. Studies have even shown that social media use can actually cause depression. With all that being said, it is not surprising that Davidson decided to take a break.

Davidson admitted he didn't think being online is a good thing and that the internet didn't make him happy. Of course being online means that he is bombarded with news about his ex, but even general negative pressure weighs him down. He does not seem to have any plans to return to social media or the Internet any time soon, but time will tell.
