Translink has announced that there are a number of delays across Metro Vancouver transit due to the ice and snow.
The Transit Authority has tweeted on long delays on bus routes throughout the region and notes that riders should expect to wait nearly half an hour in many cases.
In addition, they added that there is a "small reduction" in service on SkyTrain. However, many Metro Vancouver riders find the wording problematic.
In fact, a number of riders found the wording dishonest as they experienced long waiting times with a number of trains passing.
"Let" have. I was a new West SkyTrain station an hour with a total of 5 trains passing by. There is no SkyTrain at this time, "writes @cantcmenoobz on Twitter.
Other riders emphasize that they feel the wording is "shameful".
"Light" has to be the understatement of the century. Pick up a dictionary and be honest with your customers. Shameful. "Tweets @npage34.
In addition to a large number of riders sharing the same mood on Twitter, other commuters shared photos of the transit chaos, which included long lines.

Commercial station westbound – decided to just return to the home – over time, the snow begins to fall again. Two hours to get 8 stations. #translink #BCStorm pic.twitter.com/MgqzOyKZv5

Easy delay? I waited 40 minutes outside Lougheed and barely moved. It would have been another hour at least to wait in freezing temperatures, so I went home. pic.twitter.com/w6l79R8dR2

Other riders note that transit in Vancouver is extremely unreliable and that this amount of snowfall should not have this kind of impact on the system.
what the heck! What's wrong with our system that shuts down with a little snow. Translink is not supposed to keep the trains running all night so it doesn't. I skipped the train and drove into downtown Vancouver – thousands don't have that choice!

Days like this people rely on transit … our transit system is a joke
