The head of the force of the emergency, the rear admiral Carlos Huber, delimited a ban in the province of Concepción, except the municipalities of Concepción and Talcahuano, due to forest fires affecting the area since Monday evening.
As confirmed by the Navy officer, the measure will come into effect from 22:00 Tuesday to kl. 7am Wednesday, even though the end time is still under analysis.
"This decision is based on the facts we had last night in these almost four simultaneous fires with high risk for the population. In the morning we had a preventive evacuation in Penco and to avoid new outbreaks at the same time to give the population peace and so that the forces working in the emergency and able to move calmly have decided this measure to have for the quiet and safe population, "said former Admiral Huber.
"They are quite drastic measures, but they are in the sense of maintaining the peace of the people, that they feel safe and that the people working in the emergency can also do so with sufficient freedom to be able to control it as soon as possible and avoid new outbreaks at night, "added the head of emergency.
The measure implies that people who do not work in the emergency will not be able to circulate on the street after 10 pm. 22.00 unless they have a safe behavior as specified in the regulations.
The measure applies to the municipalities in Tome, Penco, Florida, San Pedro, Hualpén, Santa Juana, Coronel, Chiguayante, Hualqui and Lota.

Army avoided using this measure for the fire in 2017
It should be remembered, however, that in the fire in 2017 in the middle of the country, the chief of defense in Maule, the army general secretary Javier IturriagaHe explained it Adopting a ban on firefighting can be counterproductive.
On that occasion, the general maintained it "If I restrict the movement through a curfew, it means that the few people or bodies allowed to move at night require safe conduct" and then "all police and army, instead of patrolling and protecting the population, will use it to control the safe behavior so that the exit ban is effective."
"It will be more of a problem than the solution, today the ban is not the solution, the emergency is different," he added.
