Oscar wins Jennifer Lawrence, one of Hollywood's most valued bachelors, engaged in marriage.
The 28-year-old actress, who rose to fame with "The Hunger Games", will marry art dealer Cooke Maroney, 33, her representative told the Los Angeles Times.
The couple met through friends last summer and have been since then.
The smoker about the engagement began to circulate after the actor was seen at a restaurant in New York with a "big ring" on his finger, according to the Side Six website.
Lawrence, known for her annoyance, had former romantic relationships with director Darren Aronofsky, Coldplay band leader Chris Martin and "X-Men" co-star Nicholas Hoult.
Lawrence, one of Hollywood's best-paid actresses, won the Oscar for Best Actress for his role in the dramatic "Silver Linings Playbook" comedy (translated as "The Fate of Games" or "The Good Side of Things").
She was nominated for three other Academy Awards for her roles in "Joy", "Winter's Bone" and "American Hustle."
The Lawrence representative has not yet answered the AFP call to confirm the commitment.
