Chihuahua.- One person died of influenza in the state, this is the first cause of death of the winter of this disease, which has already been a total of 39 people in December, as reported by the Ministry of Health.
Gumaro Barrios, head of the epidemiology of the secretariat, reported that influenza is one of the diseases that also follows up for many years, but that its maximum expression was in 2009 pandemic and since then is more methodical in your research.
"For this winter season we have recorded 39 cases of influenza and 1 death, this is mainly in the cities of Chihuahua, Ciudad Juárez, Guadalupe and Calvo, Matamoros and in Namiquipa where we have cases," added Gumaro Barrios.
In this regard, he stressed the importance of vaccination against this disease with the advantage that the cost is assumed by the state so that the dose is completely free and is particularly recommended to vulnerable groups such as minors of five years and adults over the age of 60, as well as pregnant women or persons who suffer from cardiovascular disease or diabetes.
For the rest of the winter season, there are two deaths in Ciudad Juárez due to carbon monoxide poisoning. The number of poisonings is 35, while gas has been eleven. In addition, eight people suffered from hypothermia due to exposure to low temperatures, and another eight were burned due to mistreatment of home heating devices.
