the National Authority of Environmental Licenses (ANLA) delivered the first wind energy generation license to the "Alpha Wind Generation" project to be developed in La Guajira.
Rodrigo Suárez Castaño, Director of ANLA, stressed that the project would work with 65 wind turbines or turbines and an electrical substation that will collect energy from the wind farm and then connect to the national transmission system.
ANLA's director explained that the license was delivered with approval of indigenous peoples living in the village of Limoncito in the municipality of Maicao.
This will be the first wind energy project in which ANLA participates and is currently processing other environmental license applications for two wind power projects and three solar energy.
According to the commitment made by President Iván Duque in the Uribia Workshop Building Country, where he assured that it would increase the participation of non-conventional renewable energy in the country to at least 10%, 10 projects of the same type would have to be created.
