Roger Federer beat Dominic Thieme at the London Championship in London, 6: 2, 6: 3, and after the initial defeat he stayed in the semifinals. On Thursday, however, the Grand Slam champion will need a victory over Kevin Anderson, who outperformed Japan's Kei Nišikori unequivocally 6: 0, 6: 1 and without losing the set.
Federer entered the tournament with an unexpected loss of Nišikori and with Thiem he played to keep progressive hopes. From the 15 previous tournament championships with the famous Swiss champion in just thirty years he has just finished in the base group.
Unlike the Sunday match, six-winner Masters Federer succeeded in avoiding mistakes and balancing the balance with Thiem to 2: 2. In the opening session, he broke the Austrian opponent twice, in the second set he got his position right from the start and then in the final game. He did not make a break in himself.
Fourth place Anderson won a second match in London and is very close to going to the semifinals in his debut at the Event of the Best Players of the Year. Nisicori after winning Federer this time he was not enough for the South African singer. The twenty-year winner made ten and won for the first time in a match with zero.
During his service, Anderson was superb, but he also managed to fight with long income games, where Nishikori became seven barbells. In the second set, the Japanese tennis player's resistance gradually weakened, but at the end he managed to at least eliminate another "canary". The match lasted only one hour and five minutes.
