The presence of Black Stars of Ghana's powerful duo Andrew and Jordan Ayew has forced Inter Milan midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah to withdraw from the Ghana national team mission on Sunday against Ethiopia.
The two teams meet in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) Group "F" Qualifier in Addis Ababa.
According to the Ghanaian website, Ghana Group, 29-year-old Kwadwo "thought to be dissatisfied with controversial powerful duo returning to the team among superstitious claims."
Sources claim the presence of the duo – most recently presented to Ghana in 2018 the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Congo in Kumasi last year – has quenched Kwadwa's progress on the international stage in a country where conviction is a life burner.
Andre Ayew, who appears on the Turkish club Fenerbahce on loan from the English championship Swansea City, was captured on a camera that sprinkled white topic on the plan before the 2017 final in Afcon against Congo Brazzaville on January 29 last year.
Overall, the duo scored a goal in the second half as Ghana led the Congo 2-1 to move on to the semi-final.
Further reports suggest Kwadwo, who was a second half in the 1-0 loss to Kenam's Harambee Stars on September 8 at Kasarani Stadium, has warned by his pastor never to play with the Ayew brothers in the national team.
