Arctic Adventures, founded in 1983, provided rafting services at the start of the business. Currently, the company organizes various long trips to Iceland – ice skating, extreme walks, diving and other entertainment.
Since 2015, when Arctic Adventures has changed, Arctic Adventures has grown almost eight times, from 6.5 million. up to 50 mln. Euro. In order to expand further, the company decided to open its first foreign office, chosen by Vilnius for its experienced English-speaking staff.
"We were interested in the success of multinational companies in Vilnius and we noticed that those who work here are professional and well-educated," said Governor Thor Bragason, Managing Director of the Arctic Adventures Vilnius office.
There are about 300 employees in Iceland, and up to 75 people are expected to be employed in Vilnius. "Reykjavik our company is an attractive workplace. We hope it will be in Vilnius," says Bragason.
At Arctic Adventures, Vilnius will run three departments – IT, sales and marketing and customer service. They will all try to meet the needs of corporate customers from around the world and improve the availability of company services online.
"Attracting such investors as arctic adventures is extremely important as it helps to diversify the industry and enable job creation for a broader spectrum of specialists," said Economist Virginijus Sinkevičius.
According to Manto Katin, CEO of Invest in Lithuania, Lithuanian talent has already gained a good reputation in the business to increase the potential of online sales.
"The promotion of online sales requires a multi-faceted strategy and can only be adjusted when employees are interested in the latest trends and constantly improving. These talents offer Lithuania," says Mantas Katinas.
Arctic Adventures has around 300 employees throughout Iceland. A colleague from Vilnius will soon join them.
