47 million euros for royal jewelry collection

The highlight of the collection was a pendant with a pearl and diamonds owned by Marie Antoinette, the wife of the French king Louis XVI, in the 18th century.

In advance, the value was estimated at between 1 and 2 million Swiss francs, but the pearl went under the hammer for 36.4 million Swiss francs. It's almost 32 million euros.

French Revolution

After Marie Antoinette was thrown by guillotine in the terrorists who followed the French Revolution, the jewels took place from generation to generation within the Bourbon-Parma house.
