Anchovy fishing quota will reach 2.1 million tonnes

Production Minister Raúl Pérez Reyes announced that the second fishing season for anchovy will handle a quota of 2.1 million tonnes, enabling fishing to take place from Thursday November 15 until the end of January.

"What we do is to ensure that the individual quotas are respected and that the youth level is respected about 9%, if it is detected that the level increases immediately, we stop the catch in the zone."

For Radio Nacional, the proprietor of Production Perez Reyes explained that the weather conditions, according to the information from IMARPE, showed a few weeks ago the presence of a Kelvin wave at a small level, which will serve as a scenario for information to consider the risks in the presence of a low frequency El Niño phenomenon.
