Overwatch players have discovered an apparent flaw in Quick Play following the Aug. 13 patch that brought Sigma and Role Lock to the game.
The August 13 patch was absolutely massive, and in addition to introducing Role Lock and Sigma, it also included updates to a slew of Overwatch & # 39; s heroes.
August 13 was also the start of the Role Lock beta season, and while things seem to be working fine in Competitive Play, Quick Play seems to have a few issues.
Sigma is now available in Overwatch on all platforms.
What's the problem?
Reddit user RetroBowser called Quick Play "god awful" on the game's subreddit after the Aug. 13 Overwatch patch.
"So it's Role Lock Quick Play right now, but without role queue," RetroBowser explained. "Meaning that all roles are available, but as soon as 2 people choose a role in the fast-paced game selection, it will be locked for everyone else on the team."
Quick Play & # 39; s Role Lock doesn't seem to work as intended.
Dexerto has tested RetroBower's claim in Overwatch and can confirm that Quick Play works the way they describe it.
Based on how Role Lock has worked on PTR up to this point, it is safe to say that this was definitely not what Blizzard intended for the new system.
Role Lock should let players choose damage, tank or support Before they enter the queue, so Quick Play appears to have the roll lock without the roll queue.
In addition, Role Lock shouldn't even get to Quick Play today, it should only be for the competitive beta season – with the system coming to QP and Competitive Season 18 on September 1st.
Blizzard even responded shortly after the topic was posted to the official Overwatch forums, saying they are currently working on a solution.
What else is in the program's August 13 overwatch?
Aside from Quick Play issues, things appear to be going smoothly during the beta Role Lock Competitive season – where the latest Overwatch hero Sigma is available to play, despite previous reports that he wouldn't be.
But with the Quick Play bug, players who want to try Sigma in a more relaxed setting than Competitive are better, which is usually the case with any new hero.
The Role Lock dream seems to have turned into a nightmare for Quick Play players.
Having an annoying bug in Quick Play is probably not the worst thing that could have happened with such a massive patch, but hopefully Blizzard is able to roll out a fix as soon as possible.
