Kaolack, February 7 (APS) – Party Candidate for Unity and Rally (PUR) El Hadj Issa Sall pledged to rehabilitate Kaolack Harbor to develop multimodal transport with the promised renaissance of the railway and the establishment of a more ambitious highway network.
"The Kaolack port will be rehabilitated to accommodate large vessels like the good old days with good peanuts," said the PUR head, that with the realization of such a project, the trucks Mali would have no reason to go to Dakar .
According to the presidential candidate on February 24, "this project is urgently developing to prevent the Abidjan harbor from becoming the preferred destination for Malian airlines."
El Hadji Issa Sall believes that the rehabilitation of the port will also make it possible to develop multimodal transport to the sub-region's countries, of which Kaolack will be the focal point of its position as a crossroads city.
At the same time as the railways, it promises to develop other forms of mass transport such as the regional Express trains whose number must rise, the subway, and so on.
"Countries like Ivory Coast and Morocco have these means of transport and why not our country," said El Hadji Issa Hall, who says it has "a great ambition for Senegal".
