Dakar, November 16 (APS) – Senegal's Interior Ministry has set up a platform on Friday to allow political parties to check the availability of the election register and check whether the names of voters are included.
The facility for establishing this platform is located in the ministry's premises, the conference room containing about fifteen computers to allow opposition parties who previously claimed that they could hear the register.
"The file is online," assured the Interior Minister and Public Safety, Aly Ngouille Ndiaye, during a presentation of the document to journalists, in the presence of the Director General for Automation of File (DAF), Ibrahima Diallo.
"This is something we have introduced, and today we have just invited the press before we extend it from next week to Senegal's 300 political parties," he said earlier to make a small demonstration.
With the identity card of one of the current journalists, the Interior Minister checked his name on the rollers or not.
To do this he first introduced his name and last name in the appropriate cage. Then all other information that is not visible on the identity card, including the parents' name, appeared.
He received the same result by introducing the national identification number and department.
Aly Ngouille Ndiaye also took advantage of this meeting to provide some clarifications to Senegalese whose national identity cards do not contain information about the chosen data.
"The re-election of the election register began between April 2017 and March 2018. And during this period there can be no election information, as from May 2018 to now," he said.
However, all persons registered between March and April 2018 will have all the data on their identity cards.
