Microsoft launches Windows Defender for Chrome and Firefox

(MENAFN – Youm7) – Microsoft has developed and tested the Windows Defender security program for both Firefox and Google Chrome users to better protect your company's PCs, according to a new report.

According to the US site engadget, this add-on is now available to trial users and is expected to be available to all users. It works on these browsers in the same way as in the Edge browser. The extension examines links to the available web pages, When there is a link to an insecure site, it opens via a special version of the Edge browser in a sandbox method that allows it to be isolated from the rest of the operating system components to prevent spread of virus.

Once this extension is installed in the browser, it will have a special icon available through it and the extension can be called to access a suspicious web page link.
