Apple finally limited the sale of the AirPort router, which included AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme, and AirPort Time Capsule models, writes Chronicle.info with reference to Portaltele.com.ua
This follows from the material in the company's official online store. Now, the only way to purchase such a device for consumers from all over the world is to contact Apple's reseller partners, as well as the part of Apple's refurbished technology, available in some countries. The AirPort range includes three devices: the available AirPort Express and the more expensive AirPort Extreme and AirPort Time Capsule.
AirPort Express is a mini-router that looks like Apple TV, supports the 802.11n standard and 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.
AirPort Extreme is twice as expensive as AirPort Express, but also more functional. Thanks to its high performance antenna, AirPort Extreme operates with the 802.11 ac standard and delivers nearly three times the speed of a classic router.
Time Capsule has exactly the same features as AirPort Extreme, but also has a built-in 2/3 TB hard drive that can be used to back up files from a Mac so you can always get them on hand.

The AirPort line has not been upgraded since 2012, which is one of the most rarely updated Apple product lines. Since then, the company continued its production, but did not make any significant changes in the hardware. However, this did not prevent Apple from releasing AirPort software updates to improve their functionality. Apple branded routers got one of the most significant updates this year, and got support for AirPlay 2 and HomeKit technology.
