MADISON, Wis. – Democratic Governor Tony Evers named his transitional team on Monday, when Republicans who control the legislature continued to discuss private ways of limiting the governor's power before taking office in January.

Democrats, who will return to the minority in the legislature next year, investigate how far the Republicans could go to the Evers knee scale, including if they could try to remove the governor from the process of reviving the political boundaries in 2021.

Evers has maintained a low profile since his one-point victory over the Republican government, Scott Walker last week, which only gives a short public appearance. However, he dismissed the GOP attempt to limit his powers as governor and said that it raised concern over the power difference.

Evers on Monday said his transitional team reflected the values ​​and diversity of the state and that the officials would work with him to put the government "back to work for the people" and build a Wisconsin "that works for everyone".

The legislature's Republican Controlled Budget Committee prepared to vote on Tuesday at the request of Evers for almost $ 95,000 to pay for the costs associated with the transition.

Republicans who control the legislator have had private discussions about how they can limit the governor's office. Publicly, Republican legislative leaders have said that they can limit Evers power to conduct meetings with the State Economic Development Agency and other boards. put administrative rules governing the government's selected photo ID requirements in law making it more difficult to change restrict the governor's authority over the regulatory process and prevent Evers from stopping federal exemptions demanded by Walker and the legislator to force childless adult Medicaid recipients to work to get benefits.

Democrats met with nonpartisan lawyers for the legislature last week to ask how far Republicans could go to remove powers from the governor's office. In particular, they asked if the governor could be removed from the redistricting process, the process of drawing political boundaries after the 2020 census.

The Legislative Reference Agency, in a memo of Assembly Minority Leader Gordon Hintz, said in any way to adopt a redistricting plan without sending a bill, the governor signs should be constitutional.

Assembly Republicans met Monday to vote for who will lead them in the next two years. Speaker Robin Vos, who has spoken to take action in a lama and session before Evers takes office, is expected to be re-elected to his leadership post.

Evers announced Monday that his campaign manager Maggie Gau will act as his first chief of staff, a move usually made after a successful driving for the governor.
