The "thin genes": why some people are thin and others keep eating the same

According to the study published in the scientific journal
PLOS Genetics that are newly discovered genetic regions
associated with thinness.

The international team says their results confirm
Idea that for some people, being thin has more to do with inheriting
a set of "lucky" genes that follow a diet or one
perfect lifestyle.

The research was conducted in the UK where they were used
DNA samples from 1,600 healthy, thin people who had an index
body mass (BMI) less than 18.

They compared these samples to those of 2,000 people
Severe obesity and those with 10,400 people of normal weight.

The researchers found out that people were there
obese were more likely to have a set of genes related to
overweight.

To a great extent, the people who were thin had not only that
fewer genes related to obesity, but also show changes in
the genetic regions recently associated with healthy thinness.

According to the researchers, this conclusion shows
The first time that thin and healthy people are generally thin because
has a lower mass of genes that increase the chances of having
overweight and not because they are morally superior to some
people.
