We are quite sure that this is how to prequel thing began … And it did not Stop well for the people involved (or the dogs). IFL Science reports that researchers studying the Antarcticis in the South Pole have discovered a "hotspot" that has caused a massive part of the paper to be considered.
Published in scientific reports and led by researchers with the British Antarctic Survey, the study used radardata to look deep under the surface of the ice. The "geothermal flux deviation" as revealed by data affects an area that is about 62 miles long and 32 miles wide which still seems to melt, but scientists say losing Antartica in the near future is no worry. The reason for melting is considered to be the combination of radioactive stones and hot water coming from the bedrock deep under the ice.

"This was a really exciting project, exploring one of the last fully explored regions on our planet," said the author. Tom Jordan in a statement. "Our results were quite unexpected, because many believed that this Antarctica region was made of ancient and cold stones, which had little impact on the ice above. We show that the underlying geologist in the old continental interior can have a significant impact on the ice . "
Hotspot has probably been there for thousands if not millions of years, and the researchers say it's probably not the only one. "We conclude that local geothermal fluctuations can be more widespread in eastern Antarctica," the authors wrote in the published study. "Assessing their influence on subglacial hydrology and isarchy dynamics requires new detailed geophysical observations, especially in candidate areas for deep ice core drilling and at the beginning of large ice streams."
If it's not The Thing, maybe it's one of the deep sea portals that kaiju crawls out of? Perhaps, instead of a space force, we should get it Pacific The Jaeger program started … just in case.
