Zec invites observers to the election in Mutoko North

Zimbabwe's Electoral Commission (ZEC) has invited observers to the Mutoko North National Assembly elections scheduled for November 24th.

The seat fell shortly after the promotion of existing Mabel Chinomona to the post of Senate president.

Three political parties will contest the re-election. Candidates are Edson Mugoma from the NCA Party, Boniface Mushore from the MDC Alliance and Rambidzai Nyabote from the Zanu-PF Party.

In a statement yesterday, Zec Executive Vice President Utoile Silaigwana said observers from Africa's continent, foreign embassies, Zimbabwean and foreign media houses and any other country outside Africa are invited to monitor the election after accreditation, which will close on November 20th.

A vacant post at Chegutu Ward 16 occurred after the Zanu-PF council, Silas Chikati, was killed in September 2018, who had won the seat on July 30th.
